Chronic stress and burnout are practically a mark of success in today’s workplace. Some people feel that if they aren’t stressed out, they aren’t trying hard enough. Working until you collapse is not sustainable, and it does not translate to a healthy, happy work-life balance.
Tami Pritchard was like a lot of women, trying to do it all. She wanted to do it all exceptionally well and proceeded to unnecessarily push herself harder and harder. While aware of the lack of support surrounding the subject of having it all, Tami thought she had a pretty good handle on things: she had successfully launched the largest project of her career, was a mentor to several women in her industry and, had a nice home in the suburbs, all while managing to get her son to school on time.
But she was a ticking time bomb. When she suffered a massive panic attack in front of the most important people in her professional circle, she knew she had to find a better way of doing things, while not giving anything up in the process.
The Corporate Maniac is not a story about giving up on your career ambitions, it’s a story about doing it differently. You’ll learn how to change yourself on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level, without losing your identity or quitting your job.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tami Pritchard has been career driven for as long as she can remember. When her friends were playing with Barbie dolls, she was playing office tapping away on her mom’s old manual typewriter, with her dad’s briefcase at her feet. She had a vision and so rather than choosing sports or clubs, her extracurricular activities in high school were in the Future Business Leaders of America.
Fast forward 35 years, she managed to climb her way up the ranks in two distinct industries. In her thirties she built, operated and eventually sold her own insurance agency. In the next decade she would ascend the corporate ladder in the highly competitive, fast paced world of wireless telecommunications.
But the tides changed for Tami in 2018 after suffering a very public panic attack on a business trip. While the episode was jarring, it proved to be a valuable catalyst for change. Following the episode, she would embark on a three-year journey to learn how to manage stress…all without quitting her job. Her methods of proactively addressing and ultimately preventing the effects of chronic stress and burnout worked extremely well for her and people close to her. It was noticing this trend that led her to write this book and tell her story in front of audiences across the nation.
