Welcome to my blog. My name is Tami Pritchard, I am an author, coach, and public speaker. With a 35-year history in the corporate world, I know all about ladder climbing, working long hours, and the health impacts that chronic stress and burnout can have on a person.
2018 was one of the best (and worst) years of my professional life. I was given the project of a lifetime and suffered a very public, long-time coming panic attack. The problem wasn’t necessarily the panic attack itself, although that should have been enough. The incident was compounded by it happening in front of several VIP’s. They thought I was having a heart attack, but I knew, in that very moment, it was my body’s reaction to chronic stress and lifestyle imbalance.
I set out on what would be a 3-year quest to improve my life. I loved my job, but I also wanted to be healthier and happier overall. I started doing research, most of which I already knew: eat better, meditate, exercise, find God, make time for friends and family, get a hobby. I did little to none of this until that fateful day.
I was resistant at first. I felt I didn’t have the time to devote to these things. My life coach and I did a deep-dive and examined my day-to-day habits. That examination shined the light on my need for some boundaries to create time for some new practices.
I learned that meditation lays the foundation for stress management. Initially, I skipped this step. I was convinced I was just one of those people that couldn’t do it. Several months into my new program, I noticed I was struggling with setback after setback and couldn’t put my finger on why. My coach suggested I may want to add in meditation, having found her own success with the practice. Despite early resistance, I agreed to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. Everything I had read about it was true, it was the catalyst for the change I was seeking.
Nutrition played a big role as well. When I ate better, I felt better. No more caffeine or sugar highs (and crashes). I was so inspired by the positive effects of my eating habits that in 2022, I became a certified integrative nutrition coach through the world-renowned Institute of Integrative Nutrition. It opened my eyes to not only the bio individuality involved with nutrition but how lifestyle is more important than the food we put in our mouths! In the integrative community, it is called primary food.
My book and coaching program begins with an evaluation in the primary food categories. These include spirituality, finances, social life, education/personal development, career, home environment and relationships. We score your satisfaction in each and the low-scoring areas are where we start first. We identify your goals and come up with a system to meet them. A goal without a good plan of action is unachievable.
Together we can walk through the change you desire. Contact me today at tami@tamipritchard.com to schedule a free 30-minute Zoom discussion and let’s get started.
